Hospitality and Conference Information Guide
General Stewart Branch No. 4 is pleased to assist you with your special occasion requirements. Our staff will answer your questions and provide suggestions to insure the success of your event. We provide venue options for groups from 10 to 200 patrons. For information on available dates, bookings or function details please contact:

Booking and Confirmations
- Your event date can be secured with a security deposit of $200.00 for smaller venues or $400.00 for the larger ones, this deposit will be deducted from total cost;
- Event details such as bar, food service and number of guests must be confirmed 5 days in advance, along with 90% payment of the event or event will be cancelled and deposit forfeited;
- The charges relative to guest numbers like food will be assessed at this minimum number unless the group size increases;
- All prices quoted are guaranteed for 30 days. Pricing is subject to change beyond this time frame.

All rooms are fully accessible to wheelchairs and individuals with physical challenges unless otherwise noted.

Beverage Service

Due to Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission regulations, the serving of alcohol cannot begin before 10:00 a.m., no alcohol may be sold after 1:00 a.m., no person can have more than 2 drinks after 1:00 a.m., and beverage consumption must end by 2:00 a.m.

Homemade Wine or Beer is not permitted. Unauthorized alcohol is not permitted.

Cash Bar - Guests pay for their beverages individually.

Host Bar - Event Host pays for all beverages.

Partial Host Bar - Beverages purchased are subsidized by the host. For example, with a toonie bar, the guest would pay $2.00 per drink purchased and the host would pay the remaining cost per drink.

Corkage Fee – Event host provides wine selection of their choice and we charge $2.50 per bottle.

Food Services
We have daytime food services for meetings and luncheons however we do not have the staff for full service meals in our hall. Our kitchen can however accommodate buffet style meals for your event in the hall. You are free to arrange a catering service or professionally prepared food trays to be brought in for your event. However privately prepared food (Potluck or mom’s homemade chili) may not be brought in. Homemade wedding cakes are permitted.
Legion Kitchen buffet:

Soup, sandwich trays, dessert trays, coffee & juice - $8.95 per person;

Dessert trays, coffee & juice - $ 4.25 per person;

Water, coffee & juice – $3.00 per person.
Host Responsibilities
As the Host for your function, we ask your cooperation in ensuring the event is a success. Please supply the Manager with the name of an individual who will be attending the occasion. We may ask this individual for assistance if your guest are unruly or damaging the property. Please note the following Policies and AGLC Regulations that we must enforce.

The Legion is a Private Club and only Legion Members and their Guests are allowed access to the Lounge area;

Guests for Special Functions are restricted to the area booked;

No Unauthorized Alcohol or Homemade beer and wine are allowed on premises;

No Use of Illegal Drugs on premises;

No Abusive Language or conduct toward Legion Staff or Members will be permitted.
Accommodations
The General Stewart Legion and our friends at the Sandman Hotel, Thrift Lodge and the Econo Lodge are pleased to provide you and your overnight guests with a special rate on rooms. In addition to the full range of services provided by these Hotels, they are conveniently located within minutes of the Legion. When booking your room, just inform reservations that you will require the Legion Guest Rate.
Payment

In addition to security deposit immediately due on booking we require 90% payment of the event 5 days in advance. The remainder will be due within 30 days after the event date before incurring a 10% late charge.

If music is played at your event a SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) fee will be added;

Available methods of payment are Cash, Debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or authorized personal cheque.
No Smoking Policy
** City of Lethbridge By-Law No. 3896 PROHIBITS SMOKING IN ENCLOSED PUBLIC AREAS. Therefore smoking is not permitted inside any area of the Legion. There are 2 designated smoking areas a minimum of 5 meters from the North and the South entrances.
